If you connect a VGA monitor and a PS/2 keyboard to your Axentra Server, you are accessing its console. You cannot access your Server's normal functions through the console; they are only available through the web interface. However, unusual circumstances may require you to perform maintenance at the console.

Use

• Attach a VGA monitor and PS/2 keyboard to your Axentra Server.
• Press Enter once or twice. If you see no response on the monitor, you may need to reboot the Server before it will recognize the keyboard.
• Otherwise, you should now see a warning and a login prompt, similar to the following:

*** NOTICE ***
This console is intended for emergency maintenance and recovery only.
You will not be able to access your Server in this manner until you have created
a user account following the instructions on your Getting Started card.

axentraserver login:

• Type your username and press Enter.
• Type your password and press Enter. Note: You will not see anything on the screen when you type your password, so be sure to type carefully.

If you have logged in successfully, you will see a prompt like the following:

[username@axentraserver username]$
