SANDS EXPO CENTER, LAS VEGAS / BOOTH 71849 – January 7, 2008 – Axentra® Corporation today announced a new Advanced Security Subscription for HipServ, its highly-regarded media server software platform.  The subscription, set to debut as an option for owners of the HipServ-powered LaCie Ethernet Disk mini – Home Edition personal media server near the end of Q1 of 2008, offers a diverse array of services that further strengthens the security of consumers’ home networks—and even their homes.

Axentra’s Advanced Security Subscription, unveiled at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, adds even greater protection and value to HipServ, the easiest way yet to save, store, sync and share digital entertainment and information.  HipServ not only keeps media organized, accessible and searchable, but its “MySafe” feature also lets users quickly and easily backup files from home PCs, for additional peace of mind.

With the Advanced Security Subscription, HipServ rises to a new level of protection.  The subscription includes:

• Online Backup: HipServ users can remotely backup their movies, videos, music, family photos and other important personal files to a “backup drive in the sky” with just a click of the mouse.  The service, powered by online storage leader Nirvanix, gives users offsite data protection that is virtually immune to tampering, theft or natural disasters.
• SSL Certificate Protection: The Advanced Security Subscription also features highly secure Internet connectivity using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology.  GlobalSign, one of the world’s leading public trust companies, provides the SSL certificate that digitally binds the user to his or her online backup, using a cryptographic key that cannot be compromised by intruders.
• IP Webcam Support: Homeowners who have IP (Internet Protocol) Web cams installed in their homes can, while away from home, access those devices via remote HipServ access.  Simply by logging in to their HipServ account using any PC or mobile device with a Web browser, then clicking on the “MyCams” button in the HipServ toolbar, users can check up on their houses and belongings anytime, from anywhere.
